Um...it may or may not be possible that Mouse left a teakettle unattended yesterday, forgot about it, and filled her apartment with nasty-smelling smoke. And ruined her teakettle. So, moving on: who knows of a good, loud teakettle Mouse should buy? (Extra points for blue or yellow.)And who knows good tricks for getting rid of melted-plastic smelling uky smoke?

8 nibbles:
Boil vinegar in your new, VERY LOUD kettle and then carry about your house. The steamy vinegar will eradicate the smoke. It will smell vinegary for a bit, then clear out.
Alternatively, spray bottle. Distilled H2O. Lavender. Spray about.

Oh no - I agree with Amanda and try lavender. Always makes my place smell good!
No advice for the smell, but I will say that I finally gave in and got an electric kettle. It turns itself off if I walk away and forget about it.
Vinegar is working! Ads, you are my hero!
Late to the party, but I love my red electric kettle: http://www.amazon.com/Bodum-5600-01USA-Cordless-Electric-Kettle/dp/B000066B66
(This one is black, which is not as pretty). Seriously, this thing has changed my life.

You just described my every day. Don't tell Husband.
Hey nice mice, thanks for all the moral support. The plastic smell is almost gone (vinegar trick works great). Now I get to hang about and decide which of all of these incredibly cute kettles to get. Hooray!
