Recap of delicious Southern food: these are my very favorites, the things I dream about sometimes in Chicago. Above is speckled butter beans, which my aunt grew herself; below is sweet corn, which my aunt used to grow herself. Now that she can't manage it anymore, people who want her to make sweet corn (it is legendary) donate ears of corn so she will make some. She freezes it in gallon Ziploc bags, but I swear, it doesn't come out right if it's prepared by anyone else, or prepared outside of her kitchen. Magic.
There was also egg pie, chess pie squares, fried chicken, fried okra,
crowder peas, and seventeen or eighteen other dishes that I ate but can't remember.

YUMMMMMM. Do you have any recipes you can share with a Yankee girl? :)
Sure! Which ones? Or...um...stay tuned and I'll get some posted.
