I have this silk serum that I got at a beauty store, and it makes my (brown) hair mega-shiny. You have to be careful not to overdo it, however, or you just look like you haven't washed your hair.
Moroccan oil is something you can buy online or at a hair dresser. You put a little bit on while your hair is still wet and then blow dry it and it should help keep your hair not so dry. It's a little bit expensive but a little goes a long way and you'll have it forever.
I wrote about it on my blog a while ago. here:http://thebusiestbee.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-year-old-products.html
I highlight my blonde hair. I like L'oreal's EverPure products (100% vegan! and sulfate-free!). I use their shampoo, conditioner, and frizz-free serum: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/women/Frizz-Free-Serum.htm (smoothing on a dime-sized drop before and after blow-drying). It smells good (rosemary + mint!) and makes my hair shiny and healthy-looking! (oh, and it's cheap, like, $8 or something, and you can find it at your local Target, Walgreens, etc.) Hope this helps! xoxo.
Wait wait wait - HOLD UP. I go away for a week and all hell breaks loose with the Moroccan Oil. You can get exactly the same effect with almond oil, coconut oil, or olive oil. If you want it to smell all pretty and whatnot, add a few drops of essential oil (I like peppermint or grapefruit). Apply the oil to your ends, comb it up the shaft of your hair and onto your scalp. Wrap hair in a towel or plastic wrap and blow dry for a minute or two. Then hang out for fifteen minutes and eat a Peppermint Patty. Now go shower.
Also good: John Frieda clear hair glaze. That shiz is awesome.
Even more awesome (but more expensive): A clear glaze at your local salon. Not outrageous expensive, but not as cheap as almond oil.
I also use almond oil on my face in the winter when my skin is dry. Wet your face with a hot washcloth, massage the oil in, let it absorb for five minutes, then drape the hot washcloth on your face for a minute and wipe off any excess oil. BAYBEEZ BUTT!
You can can Moroccan Oil from Amazon and I have also seen it at Pure Beauty on Diversey. I have been in the beauty industry for quite a few years now, and this is the only hair product that has impressed me! It is about $33 but when one bottle lasts an entire year its really not that expensive!
